Mass of the Healing Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
Saturday, November 7, Good Shepherd Parish will celebrate a Healing Mass at 11Am. Many people have asked what is a "Healing Mass" ? It is a Mass where the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sick will be celebrated. The purpose of the sacrament is to unite the ones who are sick, the elderly, those who suffer from emotional and physical problems with the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ. So, those who receive the sacrament may know the healing presence and love of the Lord, strengthened in faith, and experience the support of the church. This Sacrament is a prayer, normally celebrated with sufficient time and suitable surroundings. The Mass is wonderful setting to celebrate this Sacrament. There is no absolute nor emergency requirement for this sacrament. It can be celebrated with anyone at least seven years of age. We invite all who would like to receive this sacrament and their caregivers to this special Mass.

Social Concerns - Food Pantry
Every 2nd week end of the month, Good Shepherd Parish collects food for the Irvington Food Pantry. This is a wonderful expression of our outreach to those who are in need. Please mark your calendars as a reminder of when we need you to bring food to the parish. Flyers will be placed in the bulletin as an extra reminder so that this worthwhile project that we have undertaken will continue with great success.
